Black and white ?

Well, Hello to all !

Im encountering some difficulties to build a useable profile for printing in BW with an Epson 1290 (and with the color inks !). The “i1RGB target IT.1.5” make something greenish in the shadows and purplish in the highlights…

I use a Eye-one with Profile maker

Which chart should I use to this purpose ? Or do you have some more advices ?

I’m french so forgive please my poor english,

Thanks a lot

Norbert

the bigger the target the better. Try the 9.18 target.

Also - be careful about the lighting you view the results under…

OK, so shall I do!
Thanks !

Well I’ve done it with the 918 patches target : the result is pretty fine, no more colorcast, perhaps slightly cold !

good news. I had a feeling that might be it. More data points might help but the remaining color may also be due to your lighting.

As you are using ProfileMaker, try selecting a different illuminant when you build the profile. Profiles are calculated to the D50 illuminant by default and it is not actually available as a light source. If you choose an illuminant closer to your viewing conditions you may see the cast go away…
