i have read all sorts of posts about THE ink limiting for each channel.
i would just like to get some things straight and understand the WHY behind it…
my RIP prints out a swatch with 7 inks from 0-100 percent…
lets take the cyan f.e…
i can visibly see the 100% patch is the darkest and to my eyes “most intense” patch.
when i read the chroma value though… which i learned was supposed to be my ink limit… i get the patch at 65% !!!.. which is way lighter…
i can understand that this patch is more “real cyan” and the darker one shifts towards blue… but why dont i want the more intense one to be available?..
is it “mixable” with other inks?..
in RGB profiling i always read “more ink=more gamut” ?.. now i limit myself although the paper could hold more??
thanx for letting me understand this
