Same Pantone Color Different CMYK

Hi All!

I really need some help on this…its driving me crazy.

A client provided me with an eps file. When I tried to copy paste the elements in a new illustrator document the colors are much different!

While a colored box has the same pantone code color, it has a different CMYK in the original and the new document!

It doesnt make any sense… :confused:

Any ideas why this is happening?

DIfferent versions of Illustrator. If your printing Spot color not going to be a problem but if it going to get converted to cymk you need to make sure the setting are the same. In the newer version they built colors using new formulas that are suppose to be better matches
